According to the Cambridge Dictionary, “WORD” can have several meanings, including:

1. A single unit of language that has meaning and can be spoken or written,

2. A short discussion or statement, or

3. News or messages.

Along this line, we also believe that by learning foreign languages (like English and Chinese), students can then:

1. Understand the meaning of foreign words when they first attempt to learn a new language,

2. Start to have discussions and communications with foreigners when their standard gradually improves, and

3. Be able to get in touch with news from across the world to broaden one’s horizon.

To achieve our aforementioned goal, we have prepared the language course in different levels, in order to match the various learning needs of different individuals. 

We are now living in a very interactive world, in which students no longer spend their learning time just in the classroom. Instead, everyone can access to the wonderful world of knowledge through television, computer, or simply a mobile phone.

As a result, we believe that teachers should make use of the time during lessons to stimulate the learning interest of students. When students get to know the basic knowledge of a topic, they can then learn and improve by themselves.

Therefore, the roles of teachers in this contemporary world is to:

• Provide necessary knowledge that students need to learn 

• Stimulate students’ interest in learning new languages

• Monitor students’ progress and give guidance whenever necessary
